Honda CB150R Street Fire was launched in 2012 and some people expected this bike could be the Yamaha Vixion killer who was the market leader for 150 cc bikes in Indonesia. Unfortunately, the powerfull DOHC 4 valve 6 Speed 150cc Honda CB cant defeat SOHC 4 valve 5 Speed 150cc Yamaha Vixion Lightning witch more fuel efficient, more torque, and cooler than CB150R.

Frustrated, Honda finally developed all new 150cc engine based on older 150cc and CBR250 engine. The new engine has near square bore x stroke ( 57.3 X 57.8 mm) which can reached max power and torque at lower rpm than the older one. This engine claimed has max power 17ps/9000rpm and torque 14nm/7000rpm. This motorcycle equiped with PGM-Fi fuel injection, 6 speed gearbox, monoshock with pro link rear suspension, full digital speed meter, all LED headlight and rear lamp, and almost identical main frame with Honda CB250R.
This bike has a kerb weight of 136 kg and a ground clearance of 169 mm. The front suspension has telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and the rear has prolink monoshock suspension. It has a bigger fuel tank which can store up to 12 litres of fuel. The bike has Y shaped cast wheels and bigger tire than the old one. Honda claimed CB150R mileage yielded is around 45 km/l, but this greatly depends on the riding and usage aspect. A few minuses in a major change Honda CB150R Street Fire are the lack of an engine kill switch and pass beam switch.
In Indonesia, this bike priced 24,5 million rupiahs or 750.000 Rupiahs more expensive compared with Yamaha new Vixion advance and Yamaha new Vixion Advance MotoGP edition. Currently, the all new CB150R Street Fire offered in 3 color combination such as Macho Black, Quantum Red and Rapid White.
